A family gathering on Thanksgiving was too much to handle for a young kangaroo.
The family believes the red kangaroo, named Lucy Sparkles, was spooked by people at their home near Shawnee for the holiday.
The 11-month-old was last seen Thanksgiving Day.
Family members have been whistling and calling out Lucy's name as they look for her in nearby fields and woods.
Layla, the 4-year-old daughter, named the kangaroo that the family got in June.
The family is offering a $500 reward.
