Fire at Claysville personal care home forces residents to evacuate

CLAYSVILLE, Pa. —

A fire at a personal care home in Claysville, Washington County forced dozens of people from their homes Wednesday night.

Officials said the fire happened at Mama's House on Elm Street around 9:30 a.m.

About 20 people had to spend the night at a shelter. Firefighters said the blaze began between the second and third floors.

Firefighters said the fire was brought under control in about an hour.

So far, there is no word on what caused the blaze. No injuries were reported.
