Hampton man prompts standoff while police attempt to serve PFA

HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A Hampton Township man is facing several charges after police said he refused to answer officers while they tried to serve a protection from abuse order.

Investigators said they went to Alan Claffey's Winchester Drive home around midnight Thursday to serve the PFA but he refused to answer the door and threatened to shoot police.

Hours later police returned with an arrest warrant and found several weapons inside the home.

Claffey was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats and resisting arrest.
