MONROEVILLE, Pa. —

The Allegheny Medical Examiner's Office on Saturday identified an Erie man found dead in a Monroeville motel.

Lamont Sidney, 39, was found Friday morning in East Exit Motel on Route 22, located between the Turnpike onramp and #1 Cochran of Monroeville car dealership.

An autopsy on Sidney was done Saturday, but the cause and manner of his death are pending toxicological tests. Police said they did not see any gunshot or knife wounds.

Monroeville Police Assistant Chief Steven Pascarella said the death is considered suspicious, without specifying why.

Channel 11’s Courtney Brennan reported that police are trying to locate a woman who may have been with the man overnight.

"The registered guest is a young woman who isn't here, so we obviously want to find her and ask her about this man's death," said County Detective Lt. Andrew Sherman.

According to Brennan, officials towed a white SUV from the motel parking lot, but police would not confirm if it belonged to the dead man.

Brennan also reported that animal control officers were called to the man’s room to remove two puppies.
