The inbound lanes of the Squirrel Hill Tunnel heading into Pittsburgh will be closed due to weekend construction. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said the tunnel closed Friday night at 9 p.m. and will not reopen until 5 a.m. on Monday. Here is the detour drivers will need to take: Take the Edgewood/Swissvale exit and then make a right onto South Braddock Avenue. Then turn left onto Forbes Avenue and make another left on Beechwood Boulevard. After that, turn right onto Forward Avenue and then make a right turn on Murray Avenue. That will take you back to the Parkway. PennDOT is urging drivers to use both lanes of the merge points to avoid big backups.
