Police say Facebook has helped them identify a 17-year-old boy from Carrick accused of firing several shots at a van full of students on Monday in Beltzhoover.
According to police, Brandone Johnson, also known as “Mouse,” is accused of firing shots at a van carrying three teens to a county-supervised after-school program and then writing about it on Facebook.
Investigators said 10 minutes after Johnson shot at the van, he wrote on his Facebook page, “Dat was ya fair warning..keep runnin ya lips.”
None of the teens in the van were injured. Police also said three adults and two infants were on a nearby porch at the time of the shooting, but they weren’t injured.
The mother of a teen who was in the van said she wanted to make sure police were on the case.
“I was so upset. I feel like my son’s life was in danger,” the woman said.
Police told Channel 11’s Renee Kaminski that Johnson is a suspect in three separate shootings in the past month.
