Man, 19, accused of raping Indiana University of Pa. student

INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. —

Police said a 19-year-old man raped an Indiana University of Pennsylvania student earlier this month.

Investigators said they were called to South 7th Street on March 8 after the victim reported the assault.

Police said they later charged Taylor Groff, of Conestoga, with rape by forcible compulsion, sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault by force. Investigators said Groff is also a student at the university.

Groff was released on $50,000 bond while he awaits a preliminary hearing.

"We want our students to come forward, absolutely, because we need to stop incidents like this," said Michelle Fryling of IUP.
