NEW CASTLE, Pa. —
A man accused of losing control of his vehicle and fatally running over a New Castle boy while under the influence last year will stand trial.
According to police, Virgil Coonfare, 66, was under the influence of five controlled substances and had a suspended license when the incident happened last November.
Coonfare is accused of killing Octavius Stone, 7, and severely injuring Ozzy Velez, 9, as they played in a front yard on Winslow Avenue, according to a criminal complaint filed against Coonfare.
There is no word on when Coonfare's trial will begin.
