BUTLER, Pa. —
Butler City police have arrested a man accused of raping a 15-year-old terminally ill girl.
The alleged victim’s mother talked to Channel 11’s Amy Marcinkiewicz Tuesday, and said she’s speaking out because her daughter was terrorized.
“I don’t know what it was, but something didn’t feel right,” the mother said.
The teen’s mother said Anthony Pete was considered a family friend. She said she was with him hours before the alleged assault.
“We were talking about Make-A-Wish and other groups out there to get her help. How do you go from that to this in two hours?” she said.
The woman said her daughter is a fighter.
“She just fights every day. She’s an inspiration to a lot of people. When doctors tell you that she’ll never survive, walk or talk and she does everything – she’s a beautiful girl,” the woman said.
The teen’s mother said her daughter is recovering mentally and physically. Pete remains in jail.
