WEIRTON, Pa. —
A West Virginia man is recovering in a Pittsburgh hospital Tuesday after spending hours in wooded area following an ATV crash.
Investigators said the man hit a tree when his brakes stopped working Sunday night in Weirton.
Officials said the crash broke his cellphone and bruised his ribs.
The man said he made a walking stick out of a branch and dragged himself 400 yards out of the wooded area to a nearby apartment, where he was able to call for help.
