A 31-year-old man was charged by Pittsburgh police after investigators said he punched and bit his girlfriend's 7-year-old.
Investigators said Joseph Horton is facing simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges for the incident that happened on Jan. 22.
Officers said they were called to Tioga Street in Pittsburgh after a Faison School social worker reported the incident.
According to the social worker, the boy said he was jumping on a bed when Horton came in and punched him in the back and bit him.
The boy was taken to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh to be checked out and officials said they discovered what appeared to be a fresh bite mark on the boy's back.
The victim's mother said the bite was from her boyfriend's 10-year-old son, however doctor's said the bite marks were from an adult.
Horton was arrested and charged in the case this week.
