Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl made an appearance at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new townhome development on Wednesday.
At the ceremony on the South Side, Ravenstahl commented on the ongoing federal grand jury investigation into city finances.
"I have no new update as far as the grand jury investigation. From my perspective, nothing has changed, and the U.S. attorney’s office may answer better. From my perspective, nothing has changed," said Ravenstahl.
Channel 11 asked the mayor, who hasn’t been seen in public a lot, why he hasn’t been making more appearances.
"The nature of transition is that people aren't asking me to be places where they used to ask me to be. They are asking presumptive mayors. They are not approaching me with long-term goals or issues. They are approaching future mayors about that," said Ravenstahl.
On Thursday, Ravenstahl is expected to make an appearance at the grand opening of a Hill District grocery store.
