Mom: 13-year-old boy saved brother, 11, from attempted abduction on Mt. Washington
Police are looking for the man who tried to abduct an 11-year-old boy on Mount Washington late Saturday night.
Mauri Swanson told Channel 11's Vince Sims that her 11- and 13-year-old sons were walking with some friends near Bailey Street on Mount Washington when a man approached the 11-year-old and asked if he wanted candy.
According to Swanson, one of her sons swore at the man, who then then grabbed the 11-year-old and tried to drag him into a home on Kathleen Street.
“Some guy just grabbed him and tried to drag him into the house after asking him if he wanted candy,” Swanson said.
Swanson said the 13-year-old ran after the man, and he ran off.
“My other son ran after him and said, ‘Let go of my brother,’ and the guy dropped my son and punched my older son in his mouth. He broke his teeth and busted his lip,” Swanson said.
"You can't let your children out of your sight for a minute," Swanson said as she teared up talking about what could have happened.
No arrests have been made, and authorities continue to investigate the incident.
Anyone with information on the attempted abduction is asked to contact police.
