Following a house explosion in Moon Township over the weekend, investigators went door-to-door checking for damage to homes and the welfare of those who live nearby.
During that check – officers said they could smell marijuana coming from a home just a few houses down.
Police said they got a search warrant and found several pot plants, growing equipment and several guns inside.
“The detectives got an anonymous tip that the resident at 1660, right after the home exploded, was out back cutting down marijuana plants and putting them in bags,” said Moon Township police Capt. Gregory Seamon.
William Amend was arrested and has been charged with several drug-related offenses, police said.
