Ambridge police are investigating after a 15-year-old girl showed up the police station Thursday night claiming her mother assaulted her.
According to police, the girl told officers her mother grabbed her, threw her to the ground and started beating her. The girl said her mother then stabbed her with an ink pen several times in the face and neck.
Authorities said the girl claims her mother got mad that she wanted to live with her father.
James Pearson, the girl’s stepfather, said the girls’ story isn’t accurate.
“She started pulling out her mom’s hair because she wouldn’t give her the computer,” Pearson said. “I know she did (the stabbing) to herself.”
Police said the girl’s mother, whose name has not been released, is currently in jail charged with aggravated assault.
