Mt. Washington man who raped, killed homeless woman sentenced to life

PITTSBURGH —

A Mount Washington man convicted of raping and killing a homeless prostitute and then setting her body on fire was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Monday.

A jury found Nathan Williams guilty in July of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse.

The burned remains of Elaina Davis were discovered on Our Way in Pittsburgh's Hill District in August of last year. The medical examiner said she had been strangled.

Williams was arrested three months later.
