New memorial dedicated to miners killed in Upper Big Branch Mine explosion
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. —
Those who died in the worst U.S. mining disaster in decades were honored with a new memorial.
Loved ones gathered at the Upper Big Branch Mine on Friday to remember all of the 29 miners killed in the explosion.
A Mine Safety and Health official said the department is going to do all it can to ensure a disaster like this never happens again.
