Newly redrawn 12th District race heating up between Critz, Rothfus

PITTSBURGH —

Prepare for a blood bath for the highly contested 12th District Congressional race between Rep Mark Critz (D-PA) and Republican candidate Keith Rothfus.

According to WPXI's Washington news bureau, the 12th District race is about to become one of the most watched and expensive political fights in the country.

The bureau said so far, two democratic groups set aside more than $1 million into television ads for Critz and Republicans have $1 million reserved for Rothfus too.

There is also a close watch on the race because Critz recently decided he will not attend the Democratic National Convention the Washington bureau said.

Policy issues for the two candidates are the same as many other competing candidates-Critz said Rothfus wants to cut Medicare and Rothfus said Critz supports tax increases.
