National media attention of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial has turned the normally quiet town of Bellefonte into anything but quiet.
Hundreds of reporters and photographers from stations all across the United States have converged for the beginning of Sandusky’s trial. Some of the people have even set up tents on the lawn in front of the courthouse.
Channel 11’s Dave Bondy talked with some people who said they don’t mind the media circus, and some who can’t wait for it to end.
“There are people coming down here to get their picture taken with news people. I have taken photos with different news organizations,” Bellefonte resident John Stonebaugh said.
Business owners said they have no problem with the amount of people filling up Bellefonte.
“The hotels are booked full and for the first time this year, there is a good economy,” Stonebaugh said.
