ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A North Belle Vernon police sergeant was hit by a Rostraver police vehicle during a foot pursuit of a suspect early Wednesday morning.
Rostraver police said while they were investigating a domestic disturbance on Monongahela Street, Devon Johnson-Brown, 22, provided a false name and then fled the scene on foot.
During the pursuit, Sgt. Van Scyoc, of the North Belle Vernon Police Department, was struck by a Rostraver police car.
Scyoc sustained minor leg injuries and was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital where he was treated and released.
Police chased Johnson-Brown about four blocks before catching him.
They later found out he was wanted by Charleroi police on felony drug and related charges.
Johnson-Brown was arraigned and jailed with bail set at $100,000. He is facing charges of avoiding apprehension and resisting arrest, among others.
