JEFFERSON COUNTY, Oh. —
A sign mix-up has some people scratching their heads about the well-being of a former Pirates great.
A sign along Route 7 in Jefferson County, Ohio read "Bill Mazeroski Memorial Highway." But Mazeroski is alive, well and living in Florida.
His childhood friends said he would get a laugh out of the mix-up.
"They probably thought since all the well-known people roads are named after, most of them passed away. They probably thought Maz passed away," said friend Rich Bibbo.
Ohio Transportation officials said they had a sign upgrade project on Route 7 and the sign has been replaced.
