Boy suffers concussion, neck sprain after teacher allegedly choked him

BROWNSVILLE, Pa. —

Parents of a 12-year-old boy filed a police report in Redstone Township claiming a substitute teacher choked their son.

Shawn Horiscisce claims a substitute teacher at Cardale Elementary in Brownsville choked his son, Shawn Horiscisce II, on Wednesday.

The boy said the special education teacher, whose name has not been released, got frustrated while trying to get several boys to line up in the hallway.

"I guess she thought I mocked her or something," said Horiscisce II. "Then she choked me and put me up against the wall."

Horiscisce also said his son is afraid and embarrassed to return to school.

"He expressed he doesn't want to return to school as long as that teacher is there. He's scared," Horiscisce said.

An attorney representing the school district stated that the incident is under investigation.

"That teacher has been suspended, pending an investigation," said police. "They are investigating whether charges will be filed."

Horiscisce II suffered from a concussion and neck sprain following the alleged incident. His mother, Christina Campbell, said her son has to see a neurologist and neurosurgeon in two weeks.
