A young girl who somehow got stuck in the door of the T Thursday was pulled to safety by her parents and a stranger, witnesses said.
Channel 11’s Vince Sims reported that the incident happened at the Wood Street station.
Around 8 p.m., one witness said he was waiting on the trolley when a family tried to get on. As they were entering the trolley, Andrew Huntley II said the door closed on the girl’s arm and the train began pulling away.
“Everyone on the platform started yelling and pounding and tried to get the driver to stop,” Huntley said. “At that point her parents grabbed the little girl and I just grabbed ahold of the parents until we got her out.”
Sims reported that Port Authority police were called to the scene and the girl was OK.
Port Authority officials said they are investigating the incident to see if there was a problem with the door.
