PENN HILLS, Pa. -- A family was able to safely escape a blaze that broke out at their home in Penn Hills early Monday morning.
The fire was reported at about 5:30 a.m. along Orchard Drive.
Authorities said a mother and her two children ran from the home after a fire started in the basement.
Crews said the blaze spread from the basement into the walls, and it took firefighters about 40 minutes to get the fire under control.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
