NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. —
A Pennsylvania Department of Transportation worker was trapped in a trench Thursday after it collapsed in North Huntingdon.
Officials said the collapse happened along Route 30 near the Aqua Doc Pools around 10:30 a.m.
The PennDOT worker who was trapped was digging inside the trench and was buried up to his neck, officials said.
The worker’s name and condition have not been released, but he has been rescued.
Authorities said fire trucks and emergency vehicles were kept back a distance from the scene so they wouldn't cause a further cave-in.
