A witness sought by Pittsburgh police in relation to the mysterious deaths of two East Liberty sisters has been identified and was questioned by detectives Tuesday.
Dr. Sarah Wolfe and her older sister, Susan, were shot in the head in their East Liberty home. Investigators found their bodies in the basement earlier this month after friends went to check on Susan when she did not show up for work. Police said one of the sisters was found naked, and her body was doused in cleaning supplies, including bleach and laundry detergent.
Detectives said the man in the photos [LEFT] is not a suspect but merely a witness. Officers said the man was on board the same Port Authority bus as Susan Wolfe and that he was helpful in that he’s one more person they can cross off their list. Police would not say whether the man was able to provide them with any new information about a possible suspect.
Sarah worked as a psychiatrist at Western Psych, and Susan was a teacher's aide at a school in Squirrel Hill.
Extra officers will patrol the streets until the gunman is caught, police said.
The sisters’ home was burglarized a week or two after they moved in in December. Two televisions were taken, and no one was arrested, police said Wednesday.
