Some Parkway North drivers learned a lesson the hard way Wednesday morning.
After sending out a warning -- police began cracking down on HOV lane offenders.
Channel 11 News was there as state police wrote numerous tickets to drivers using the lanes alone.
The enforcement also caused extreme delays on the Parkway North with traffic backed up from the Interstate 79 split to the East Street Valley.
State police said they issued 60 citations and 14 warnings between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Officials from state police said motorist should expect enforcement to continue, which likely means backups should be expected as well.
