Police ID 6 suspects in elaborate car break-in spree
Pittsburgh police have identified six suspects accused in an elaborate car break-in spree throughout the city.
According to police, the suspects are all from Spring Garden, and Anthony Meiglitz was their leader.
Investigators said at least 55 cars were targeted, but there could have been more.
Police said the suspects admitted to the break-ins and told detectives they would work in teams of two or three and pick cars with custom wheels or tinted windows because they thought those cars had high-end electronics.
According to police, Meiglitz wouldn’t break into the cars, but he bought the stolen items in exchange for cash or drugs.
