Police are investigating a pizza delivery driver robbery in the city’s Sheraden neighborhood.
The driver from a McKees Rocks pizza shop told police he was robbed at gunpoint just after midnight Wednesday on Ashlyn Street.
Authorities said the robber walked up to the delivery car, pulled out a gun and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect an unknown amount of cash and his cellphone.
According to police, the robber is a black man, standing about 5 feet 9 inches, weighing about 130 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded-sweatshirt, a gray Pirates baseball cap and a blue bandanna.
Robert Arbuckle has lived in Sheraden for 30 years and said he’s afraid more problems could arise in the area.
“It’s scary because you don’t want that happening in your neighborhood. It just seems like things are degenerating a little bit,” Arbuckle said. “If people don’t want to come in then others aren’t going to move here or buy houses that are empty.”
One of the owners of Doughboy’s Pizza said the store will not stop delivering to the area.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact police.
