Police said a man broke into his ex-girlfriend's Ross Township apartment on Saturday, stole her wallet and then forced her to take him to Ross Park Mall for shoes.

Sergio Lombardo, 18, is accused of beating the 20-year-old woman and then forcing her to go to the mall with him. Investigators said Lombardo was taken into custody at Ross Park Mall.

“He grabbed her arms and pulled her out. I heard screaming and then I heard a bang because he punched a hole over here in the wall,” the victim’s roommate said. “I was so shaken up I didn’t know what to do. I felt so helpless.”

The roommate said she tried calling the victim, but she never answered.

“I had no idea where she was. She wouldn’t answer my calls for a half an hour and I was freaking out,” the roommate said.

Police said Lombardo was also charged with violating an emergency protection from abuse order when he tried calling the woman after Saturday's incident.

Lombardo was arrested and jailed Wednesday when he appeared in court for his preliminary hearing.
