BELLE VERNON, Pa. —
South West Regional Police said a man accused of raping a 34-year-old Belle Vernon woman admitted to the crime.
According to police, officers received a report from the victim and subsequently interviewed both the victim and Jonathan McDonough.
During the interview, police said McDonough admitted to engaging in sexual intercourse with the victim even though she repeatedly said "no."
McDonough also told police that the crime happened in front of a 6-month-old who was in a bassinet in the same room. Police said a 5-year-old was also in bed in another room at the time of the rape.
McDonough was arrested and charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, child endangerment and corruption of minors.
McDonough remains in the Fayette County Jail.
