Police in Lawrence County arrested a woman Wednesday night after they said she overdosed in a car with her two children in the backseat.
Authorities said Misty Blu McKim was driving through New Castle Wednesday night with her sister and two kids when she said she didn’t feel well.
The Youngstown woman pulled over and passed out, investigators said. Detectives said they found a syringe in her purse and suspected heroin in her wallet. New Castle police have charged McKim with possession of drugs and child endangerment.
McKim’s grandmother, Ann McKim, told Channel 11 that she can’t believe her granddaughter is back in jail.
“I pray for her. She needs help,” said Ann McKim. “I've been there for her. She could have come to me. She needs mental help.”
