Police seize 50 lbs. of marijuana in Fayette County

UNIONTOWN, Pa. —

Nearly 50 pounds of marijuana was seized by drug agents in Fayette County on Friday.

Investigators said the drug bust happened in Uniontown after police stopped a car for a traffic stop.

The Fayette County District Attorney said the bust will put a significant dent in the local drug trade.

"Obviously this is a long, twilight struggle, but one that by these kind of arrests and confiscations we seek to reduce the drug trafficking in Fayette County," said District Attorney Jack Heneks.

Police said the drugs are worth about $100,000.
