Port Authority to crack down on non-paying riders by adding cameras

PITTSBURGH —

The Port Authority plans on cracking down on riders who don’t pay for their fares by installing surveillance cameras.

Transit officials said they want to put cameras on T-line trains to identify and prosecute people who don’t pay for tickets.

Officials said a lot of riders have been seen skipping on fares and understaffed collection booths have been unable to deal with the problem.
