Puppies stolen from New Castle woman's home during burglary

NEW CASTLE, Pa. —

A New Castle woman said she's served in two wars, beat cancer twice, but losing her new puppies during a burglary at her home has been the hardest thing she's had to go through.

Irene Matas, 75, said her Boston Terrier pups named Adam and Eve were stolen from her West State Street home on Tuesday.

Matas said someone broke into her house and took the dogs while she was sleeping. The thieves also stole a television and camera.

State police are investigating. Troopers said Adam has a bone-shaped marked on his nose and Eve has all white paws.
