CENTER, Pa. —
Emergency crews rescued a teen that fell down a steep hillside in Beaver County Friday afternoon.
Officials said the 13-year-old slid down a ravine behind his Greenvieve Circle home in Center Township home around 3:30 p.m.
The Center Township Fire Chief said the boy was walking in the woods when he lost his footing and slid down the 55-foot hillside. The chief said it took crews about an hour to rescue the boy.
“My daughter and some of her high school friends were also there exploring a different part of the woods and they helped as well,” John Heidengren said. “They stayed with the boy to calm him down.”
The boy was taken to Children’s Hospital in Lawrenceville. His condition has not been released.
