IRWIN BOROUGH, Pa. —
Runners gathered Saturday in Irwin Borough to assist a boy in helping children who are battling cancer.
Genre Baker, who battled a rare form of cancer when he was 8 years old, is using Genre’s Kids with Cancer Fund to help families living through childhood cancer.
Genre’s Run for Cancer Kids was held at Irwin Borough Park Saturday.
Funds raised from the run will allow Baker to send supplies, including video games, to children going through cancer treatments.
“Whenever I got home from the hospital, I asked my parents if we could give them to other kids to pass the time, like it would for me, and so that's how it got started,” said Baker.
Baker is in remission after completing treatment in October.
