WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. —
The second phase of a Westmoreland County biking, hiking and walking trail was dedicated during a grand opening ceremony Saturday.
The 3.7 mile addition to the Westmoreland Heritage Trail extends from Slickville to Delmont. Starting in Saltsburg, the trail now encompasses 8.7 miles, much of which sits along the old Turtle Creek Branch of the Penn Central rail line.
Westmoreland County commissioners and other officials involved in the project attended the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony, which was followed by a run/bike/walk on the trail.
