Several rescued after flash floods surprise swimmers at Ohiopyle

FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. —

A flash flood caused quite a scare at a popular spot for families in Fayette County Tuesday.

Witnesses said everything seemed calm at the natural waterslide at Ohiopyle State Park when a burst of fast-moving water startled swimmers.

People nearby said they had to rescue several people from the raging water.

Fayette County 911 dispatchers said no one was hurt.

A box truck flipped onto a car on Perry Highway near Cemetery Lane in West View early Wednesday morning causing major traffic backups and injuring two people.
