SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Shaler police are looking for motorists who were approached by a man trying to get into their vehicle Sunday.
According to police, a witness reported that Lawrence Stukes, 40, of New York City, first tried to break into unoccupied vehicles at the Eat’n Park about 7:20 a.m. at Route 8 and Saxonburg Boulevard.
Stukes then tried to get into an occupied vehicle at the intersection’s red light, police said, before trying the same thing at the drive-thru at the nearby Dunkin’ Donuts. Police said by the time they arrived, drivers had left the area.
Police said Stukes may have been looking for a ride. He is charged with drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and public drunkenness. He remained in the Allegheny County Jail on Wednesday. Anyone involved or who saw what happened should call police at 412-492-2222.
