PITTSBURGH —

A small fire in UPMC Mercy Hospital Monday afternoon caused an area of the hospital to be evacuated.

Officials said the fire was reported on the seventh floor, which houses offices and not any patient rooms.

The seventh floor was evacuated and the fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported.

A fire official told Channel 11 News that the flames were caused by a problem with the engine on a water heater pump.
