PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh police said an intruder entered a woman's South Side home on Thursday and groped her in the shower before she was able to scare him away.
Police said the woman's front door was unlocked when the incident happened at about 9 p.m. along 20th Street.
The man didn't have a weapon but was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, which he used to cover his face, police said.
The incident has neighbors on edge.
"That's really scary. I live a couple blocks from here and it makes me feel not very safe," said South Side resident Kate Fischer.
According to the police report, the 23-year-old woman told officers that the man stepped into the shower with her then fondled and sexually assaulted her.
The woman told police she was able to scare the man away by screaming as loud as she could.
Investigators said the intruder was a white man between 20 to 24 years old. He weighs about 155 pounds and is 5 feet 9 inches tall. The man was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and white shoes.
