Threat against judge, DA prompts security increase at Centre County Courthouse

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. —

Channel 11's Dave Bondy reported that a major increase in security at the Centre County Courthouse Monday was a result of a possible threat against a judge and the district attorney.

Bondy learned that the threat may have come from one of three Russian men accused in a violent 2009 robbery whose trial began during the second week of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse trial.

Because of the threat, security was at an all-time high, Bondy reported.

Police said when a verdict is announced in the Sandusky case, security will also be increased.
