MCMURRAY, Pa. —

A Washington County dentist was arrested Friday, accused of prescribing more than 6,600 narcotic pain killers to several patients.

Authorities said Charles Kokoska, 48, worked out of his house on Waterdam Road in McMurray.

According to the criminal complaint, between January 2009 and October 2010 Dr. Kokoska wrote more than 300 prescriptions for more than 6,600 pain killers to at least seven different patients.

Police said the prescriptions for oxycodone, hydrocodone and propoxyphene were filled at various pharmacies in Allegheny, Fayette, Greene and Washington counties.

Kokoska has been charged with seven counts of prohibited acts by medical professional and two counts of provider prohibited acts, police said.
