A woman was hit by a car Tuesday on the North Side and the driver fled the scene, police said.Officials said the hit and run happened on Sandusky and North Avenue at about 7:30 a.m.Dearra Moore, 18, said a burgundy sports utility vehicle hit her less than 100 yards from where she dropped her son off at daycare.“Her right headlight just hit me in the side and I jumped off my feet,” Moore said. “What if I was with my baby? We could have been seriously hurt.”Moore said her badly bruised hip will cause her to miss some time at work.“It really hurt my side and I was in panic,” Moore said. She also said she hopes the driver comes forward.“She said sorry and rolled her window back up,” Moore said. “When I turned around to get her license plate number she drove away really fast.”Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
