Man Files Suit Over Holiday Light Display In Ross Township

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A holiday light display caused controversy in a local neighborhood, now a local township might be expecting coal this Christmas from the resident.

William Ansell named 18 defendants in a lawsuit including Ross Township, several police officers and the Allegheny County jail.

Ansell said Ross police routinely harassed and intimidated him since 2006 for violating local ordinances.

He said it all stems from his holiday light display which brings many people into his neighborhood.

The lawsuit includes claims for violating his First Amendment rights as well as assault and battery.
