Man Killed In Drive-By Shooting Near Community Garden Party

A drive-by shooting in broad daylight claimed the life of a male victim on the North Side.

This occurred this afternoon near Jacksonia Street and Garfield Avenue.

Directly across the street, the Mattress Factory was hosting their community garden party when gunfire rang out.

"The museum went into lockdown. We evacuated everybody. For those people who felt uncomfortable leaving, we put them in a secure location."

Police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time.

The Medical Examiner said the unidentified man died at Allegheny General Hospital shortly after the shooting.
