Man Killed In Scott Township Blaze ID'd

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Authorities have released the identity of a man killed in a four-alarm blaze along Montgomery Avenue in Scott Township earlier this week.

Donald Wilkinson, 46, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

"The initial report came in as someone trapped in the structure. We had two calls received from cell phones trying to get the victim out with a broken leg," said Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Haberman.

Crews said two females were also inside the house. One was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.

"When the Fire Department arrived at the scene, there was heavy smoke and flames on the second floor. They had the ladder on the back of the building and the heavy smoke pushed them back more than once," said Haberman.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
