Minor Flooding Reported In Fayette County

CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. —

People living along the Youghiogheny River were watching water levels closely on Sunday.

Neighbors were happy to see that the river had not risen as much as expected.

The Martucci Funeral Home surrounded itself in sandbags to keep flood waters out.

The funeral home owner, Vito Martucci, said, "We never know. That's why we are out here now. We have sandbags right here. We have a sump pump down there, and we hope nothing happens."

After several people showed up to watch the river, emergency officials asked people to not come in to river watch, for their own safety.

The Fayette County Emergency Management Agency deactivated its operations center Sunday because of a lack of major flooding.
