PITTSBURGH —
The Diversity Employment Expo was hosted by Employmentguide.com and the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh. Forty-five employers were on hand.
“From 10 o'clock this morning until about 11:15, we had about 500 or 600 people come through for the job fair, which is absolutely unheard of. We've never seen this kind of turnout," said Kenneth Houston of the Urban League.
Jobs were available from medical to the military.
An insurance group that needs specialty skills told Channel 11 they found some potential employees at the fair.
“Actually we’ve seen about 25 come through that we are going to be interviewing. So we were very happy with the turnout that we got," said Chris Villwock of Futurity First Insurance Group.
It’s estimated that anywhere from 1,500 to 1,600 job seekers showed up throughout the day.
